Movie Plot
Produced by JJ Abrams (of TV's "Alias" and "Lost), this is about a monster attack in New York as told from the point of view of a small group of people. Some of the fantastic scenes include the destruction wreaked on New York City, with the 401 Broadway Building blowing up and the severed head of the Statue of Liberty falling onto the streets!

The basic storyline of "Cloverfield" is about Rob Hawkins (Michael-Stahl Davis) and his friends on a quest to brave the streets of an apocalyptic New York City to meet his lover, Beth McIntyre (Odette Yustman), confess his love and rescue her amidst the attacks of "some thing". Some really big bad thing.
A highly durable and presumably expensive video camera becomes our ears and eyes as the events take place, rather reminiscent of "The Blair Witch Project". However, the comparisons stop there. Creators J.J. Abrams and Drew Goddard along with director Matt Reeves combine the best of the elements that made "Alias" and "Lost" and even "Felicity" such big hits.
It starts out like a potentially good love story as we are familiarised with the characters, their dimensions and their dilemmas. However, once the head of the Statue of Liberty falls, there is no more time for that.
The terror is not only in the form of something big running rampant downtown, but also other things small, fast and deadly lingering in pitch-black tunnels. What really distinguishes this film from other monster movies is its ability to evoke the trauma of being in the middle of confusion and devastation - uncomfortably reminiscent of the 9/11 New York City. Even the scenes of the military fighting off the threat manage to avoid cliches by successfully capturing the suffocating impression of war zones.
It is discovered that Hud (T.J. Miller) accidentally taped the events over a previous recording, which reveals a mini-story. Snippets from the previous recording pop up intermittently and tell the love story between Rob and Beth; this also justifies him running towards the danger instead of away from it to rescue her. The footage along with the humour injected once in awhile helps lessens the feeling of being overwhelmed - almost to remind us that it's a movie lest things get too real.
Since there is no bird's eye view of anything, and no one really knows what's going on, you really feel a need for the characters to survive because you want to know what happens next.
Some might find the absence of omniscience frustrating. By breaking down the structure, many questions are intentionally never answered. However, this allows audiences to really empathise with the characters and their struggles, which gives a chance for the humanity to really be felt.
The effects were relatively run-of-the-mill by today's standards, although they were made even more believable by the camera jitters and odd panning and angles. The film relies more on the intense ambient sounds and visuals of devastation to really leave an impact.
Ultimately, this isn't just a film it is an experience. Once the ride starts, leave your thinking caps and just enjoy.
I think, I feel..
The starting storyline was just alright not that interesting. The middle part was thrill, pretty exciting & nice but the ending of last part wasnt that great to what we expect! Pretty sad, touching story! Don't harm giving an opportunity to catch up with Cloverfield movies.

Was kind of dishearten when I c my eczema not getting very much better. Coz I was to stay away from wheat & diary products, but I couldnt resist to e temptation & frequently still eat it most of e time so becoz of my itchy mouth my itch still exist & complexion seems rather dry.
Happen to browse through web & forum that Dr. John also got c skin pro like eczema other than slimming so intend to try it out c if can get much better mah. A sudden urge & decision wanting to visit Dr. John.
Bring Si En along to accompany me for the trip. He was rather a young, not bad lookin, straight forward doc. I tell him abt my condition & situation den he prescribe sum pills 4 day + nite, body wash, 3 types of moisturizer. 1st trip cost me abt $100 there includes consultation fees of $30, which means the medication cost abt $70 of which is much more cheaper than The Natural Therapies Centre which I visited costing me a bomb. -_-"
After which, buy lots of tibits & sinful snacks & back home le. Hopefully this trip to visit him is a fruitful 1 able to c results fast fast pls.. 2weeks after like that gonna visit him perhaps before Feb bahz. Coz they will be closed for 1week or so if I am not wrong.

After that, we went tO CineLeisure tO have our supper. Most of e shOp have clOse le left a few nia sO nOthing much tO shOp or fOod tO chOose le. We dine @ Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe there. Had HK Famous Cheese Baked Pork Chop Spaghetti, Ham & Egg Spaghetti, Ham & Tomato Sandwich & Iced Yuan Yang. The fOod was still alright nOt that bad. Saw Tiz & her dear there say Hi! & gO off le. =)

It's not very scary
If you never want to watch horror movie and are interested in trying some, do start with this movie.. It's not a very scary one.. But, it's a good beginning to like a horror movie too.. The first scene, which a lady died in a lake or somewhat was quite good, but I was disappointed bye the last scene.. The ghost popped up undramatically.. And, the story didn't have an end.. But, other than that, it's quite good..

At 1st wanted to watch One Missed Call on this day @ Lot 1 Shaw de Cinema, we even planned to watch nite 11.15pm de as b4 that e timing is ard 9pm plus which will be quite rush as we still need to wait for our doggie back home from grooming.
We were all amazed & surprised when we saw our doggie worwor came back. It's actually a Maltese breed but when she come back doesnt seems to be like our "OLD" look doggie lehz. Seems like a total new dog. HaHa. Overall looks pretty good s in more hygience, clean, neat & tidy & even much cuter than b4 that e messy, untidy, smelly, sleepy, ugly dog face(whahahaa =P).. We chose Full Grooming. Charging was quite reasonable.

When everything's is done, we faster go Lot 1 meet Grace, Guang they all but when we can to e Cinema Level we c that everything is close le & seems like renovating or like dao bi de gan jue lehz. How could it still be movies on show seeing in such a condition... Ask sum ppl there they say last movies it's abt 9pm plus now (10plus) no more lohz~ ?_? Funny thing is that we all saw at Website of that outlets of cinema which we r goin to e last movies timing was @ 11.15pm & not 9pm plus lohz. OMG!!! So weird lehz~ Found from website de shld be quite accurate & updated de mah but it seems like.. Haiz~
What can we do now?!? Dont know lehz, not too sure also as other cinema most of them No Show liaoz even got it's at Orchard bah but we dont wanna go so far juz wan ard nearby area s more easier & convenience. Guang thought of going to Bt. Timah to eat den play Pool/Billiard so we head down there. Had a feast meals of supper. After big full meals of supper we go to a 24hours I.R.C lan gaming shop play Pool, I am not so good & skilled so see them play most of e time only e last time den try try s super long didnt play le & I am not good at it. Never play that long, abt an hour den all of us go home le as next day gonna work.

Got my Marketing Communication studies on e 11th Jan, go to sch pretty late but late better than never lah.. End sch ard 10pm & met up with dear @ Bugis as he coming over to fetch me. Thought of catching up movies either Alien VS Predator 2 or One Missed Call bahz but ended choosing Alien VS Predator 2 instead as dear wish & like to watch that more. =) The movies time was still some time away so we just shop ard Bugis Village & ate something 1st. Dear buy himself a cardigian & T-shirt blouse while getting me my faves Hello Kitty stuff, Hello Kitty belt. =D

The unavoidable sequel to the first "AVP" is upon us! Carefully planned for a worldwide release on Christmas Day 2007, the good people of Twentieth Century Fox repeated their secret trick - keep the press from watching it first!
The trick works because "AVP2", much like the prequel, does exactly what it says on the tin. In other words, it's the sort of bad movie that you just have to see because everybody else would be seeing it and there are no other movies worth seeing at the time anyway. To afford us some level of pride, having read no reviews let alone negative ones because there are none available, we can proudly buy the tickets and complain to others later that we had no clue. That's the magic of marketing.
What's the magic of "AVP2" this time around? Well, it's a little "Aliens" and much more "Predator" but very little "versus", if you're on the ball.
Picking up precisely where the first left off, the chestburster (learn your "Aliens" terminology!) in the Predator ship turns out to be a Predalien if you haven't already guessed. A mini-battle ensues and some poor aiming results in the convenient crash of the aircraft back onto Earth, where the poor townsfolk of Gunnison, Colorado are waiting around for something more interesting to happen to them other than their high school love triangles and failed deer hunts.
Meanwhile on the Predator planet, we see some CCTV footage exposing the failure of the crashed ship to a presumably senior ranked Predator. This Predator supervisor, two weeks to promotion, puts on some gear Rambo-style and flies solo to check out the crash site before his boss finds out. Too late - the facehuggers (larvae of the xenomorph) are already having fun with the locals, not to mention that the Predalien is all out to visit some nasty violence on women especially. Then, we hang on for about an hour or so to see if the Predator supervisor manages to clear up his staff's cock-ups, while being entertained with some token character development of the locals.
Is it better than the first? Yes and no. Sci-fi fans of the original have been reported to dismiss this one as a "Transformers" misadventure with messy, 'cheating' fight sequences, although there are one or two surprises in store for the humans. The action in "AVP2" is admittedly exciting, even if it's plain silly that the Predators look so helpless sometimes and get jumped quite easily by the Aliens despite being so much more intelligent and having so many sophisticated gadgets.
The biggest complaint one can foresee is its ridiculous anti-climax, which even comes with a don't-trust-the-government message thrown in for good measure. "AVP2" is milking the two franchises well but it's also ruining fanboy expectations of each. The once-awesome Aliens we learned to fear through Ripley have been reduced from demonic, impossible-to-kill serpents to pest-like, "Jurassic Park" raptors that die like flies. Not to be outdone, the Predators are looking stupider than ever since 'Scar' last teamed up with the chick in "AVP" and needed to sweat when taking care of a couple of teenagers, never mind fighting Aliens proper. Maybe the Predators need to undo their dreadlocks because its just not fun watching them behaving like they need their head examined.
Whoever wins, we lose indeed. It's time to dig up that old "The Thing" DVD or wait until "AVP2" gets a HBO slot.

Went to Katherina's baby bOy de 1 mOnth old celebratiOn @ Hill View Park CondO. Talk & catch up with her abit as lOng time din c each other le, e last time was on mOi yOunger daughter birthday celebratiOn on 29th July 2007. Me attend with dear & mOi 2 lil baObei gals. Spend my Christmas Eve at mOii auntie(gu gu)'s house @ Bedok which is very near to mummy's house. Bring mOii 2 lil baObei gals, Si En & Si Jia along with dearest hubby & his friend Guang & Grace to Bedok to meet mummy 1st den walk down to gu gu's house.
They are all christian so every year my gu gu they all sure celebrate Christmas de, celebrated at either one of their house & have a meal feast*yUmMy* It's also a good way of gathering coz we seldom get to gather all to meet up together except probably Xmas & Chinese New Year nia lohz~ Coz everyone's so busy with work, studies, family & other committment & so on... ...
Bb Si Jia is so noisy & cranky, very pestering & super glue to me lohz~ She want nobody except me nia even her daddy wanna carry or take care of her she also don't want. Notti notti gal lohz!i!Make me got to carry or let her sit on my lap I wanna comfortably(shu shu fu fu) eat my meals also difficult lohz. OMG!!! =X As for Si En she more okay, guai guai.. She able to mingle & socialize around so not so difficult to take care of. Simply loves to eat, play & run about. HaHa~ =P
